Truck's hydraulic arm kills garbage worker in Italy

The hydraulic arm of a gargage truck caught a 52-year-old worker by the neck and killed him him Monday as it began lifting a trash can, police in Italy said. Investigators said the man was collecting trash to feed into the truck's trash compactor when the accident occurred at 6 a.m. in Sant'Egidio alla Vibrata, a town in the central Italian province Teramo, Agenzia Giornalistica Italia reported. The victim had not been identified. A magistrate ordered an autopsy to determine if the man may have "suddenly taken ill" before the accident.
