A UN chopper crashed after takeoff in Al-Naji city, in central Darfur west of Sudan, United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) said on Sunday. UNAMID office said in a statement that all 19 passengers, including four crewmembers who were evacuated from crash site. The statement noted that the chopper had technical malfunction early hours this morning and shortly after takeoff. The statement added three passengers were slightly injured in the crash and were transferred to UNAMID field hospital for treatment. Since 2008, UNAMID 26,000 peacekeeping force has been working in Sudan.
