A 9-year-old Utah girl has died after a gust of wind picked up a trampoline she was sitting on and carried it for 150 feet, the sheriff's office said. Oaklee Sidwell died Wednesday morning from injuries sustained in the accident, which took place in her backyard in Panguitch. The trampoline was properly assembled, and was anchored to the ground and had a safety net, officials told Deseret News. She was playing on the trampoline with friends Tuesday afternoon before the incident occurred. The other children got off, and she sat down to put on her shoes, the Deseret News reported. A wind gust then lifted the trampoline into the air and carried it for approximately 150 feet, Cheryl Church, spokeswoman for the Garfield County Sheriff's Department said. The girl was taken to Garfield Memorial Hospital and then transferred by medical helicopter to Primary Children's Medical Center, where she later died.
