The Al Maktoum College of Higher Education in Scotland will celebrate the graduation of its 19th batch of students from the Multiculturalism and Leadership Programme on Friday, August 29th, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and U.A.E. Minister of Finance.
The ceremony, which will be attended by Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development and Mirza Al Sayegh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Al Maktoum College, will see fifty-six female students from nine government and private U.A.E. universities and colleges, including five employees from the Dubai Courts, graduate from the course, which was created to equip students with the skills needed for leadership roles and provide them with an insight into modern day issues.
Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi said that the participation of Zayed University students in the programme reflects the university's keenness to encourage its students to take initiative, use their creativity and develop their knowledge, as well as learn about the links between Islamic and contemporary cultures, through teachings based on the principles of moderation.
Al Qasimi said, "I would like to extend my thanks to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan for his tireless effort to support colleges in their march towards development with the highest international standards."
