Chairperson of Qatar Museums Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani was awarded Saturday the StellaRe by the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo ( CRT Foundation for Modern and Contemporary Art ) in appreciation for the role of Her Excellency in supporting culture.
The ceremony was held in Turin. HE Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani and Qatar's Ambassador to Italy Abdul Aziz bin Ahmed al Maliki Al Juhani both attended the ceremony.
HE Sheikha Mayassa's role as Chairperson of Qatar Museums is to transforming the State of Qatar into a cultural hub for the Middle-East through overseeing the vision dedicated to the country's museums, cultural organizations and historical landmarks. HE Sheikha Mayassa also plays an important humanitarian role in her capacity as Chairperson of Reach Out To Asia (ROTA), an organization dedicated to helping victims of natural disasters in Asia.
