Zaatari camp in Jordan Amman - Arab Today Three Syrian refugees living in the Zaatari camp in Jordan raped a 14-year-old girl, a top security official said on Tuesday. One of the alleged rapists was arrested and referred to the Supreme Criminal Court while search is underway for the two others at the camp, which is home to more than 120,000 Syrian refugees, the official told Xinhua Tuesday. The Syrian girl was referred to the camp's Family Protection Unit for receiving medical and psychological treatment, the official added. A total of 10 sexual assault cases were reported at the Syrian refugee camps in Jordan since the start of influx of Syrians to the kingdom from early 2011, said the official. There are more than 540,000 Syrian refugees in Jordan at present of whom some 128,000 live at the country's five camps for Syrian refugees. Source: XINHUA
