Arab Media Forum
Dubai - Arab Today

Arab Media Forum Dubai - Arab Today A UAE paper has said that whatever Dubai does, it does it in style and with a clear vision that the future generation should be benefited. Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has launched the Future Editing Smart Hall in the media centre of the Arab Media Forum, AMF. What is interesting is that the hall is the first of its kind in the entire Arab world. Media personnel and journalists will be able to use sophisticated devices and advanced electronic screens. "The Arab Media Forum is intended to highlight the UAE's openness and avant-garde role, promote its leadership in communication and dialogue and attract a wide spectrum of the media industry representatives," said The Gulf Today in its editorial on Wednesday. In addition to the UAE citizens' active participation in discussions and sessions, the UAE team has the lion's share in the process of preparation, organisation and hosting of AMF. Sheikh Mohammed attended the opening session of the 13th Arab Media Forum, while Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab delivered the keynote address, mentioning that the "World today finds itself before an excitingly unpredictable future which holds tantalising promises beyond what we can hope to foresee." The feeling of joy that comes when one enters the UAE is unique. The Egyptian premier too indicated as much when he declared, "Dubai, through the tireless work of its sons and daughters and the visionary policies of its leaders, has evolved into a true crossroads of culture and civilisation, a tourist haven, and a centre of commerce and trade in today's world." Both Sheikh Mohammed and Mr. Mahlab have stressed the important role of the media, its national and humanitarian message, especially in terms of "highlighting the issues of our nation and issues of the Arab nation." "The AMF is proving to be popular primarily because it has sought to open wide horizons for dialogue, in-depth discussions and exchange of ideas on media-related issues of importance to the region and the world at large." concluded the Sharjah-based English language newspaper.
