Jordanian media presenter, Lara Tamash
Amman - Iman Youssef

Jordanian media presenter, Lara Tamash, considered that the impact of social networking sites, especially as the field of media has become very wide, is a double-edged weapon. "We have to look for credibility in news and facts, whether public or private, political, artistic or social," she said.
As journalists, social media served us and shortened the ways between us and the audience, but on the other hand the stars of the media cannot be categorized as media professionals, certainly some of them may be influential, but not for all recipients," she added.

In an exclusive with Arabs Today, Tamash revealed that some media and media professionals drifted behind the social networking sites, so they moved away from the media profession because of the gains. "Therefore, the quality of the effect has to be checked," she said.

"If we are talking about psychologically and socially influential people in a way that is appropriate to the nature of our societies, I think they are rarity frankly. Everyone is looking for entertainment, and this is a project that has long been within the limits of politeness," Tamash added.

"I can not call a girl who teaches makeup through social media and offers cosmetics, clothes, etc, that she is a media presenter, or journalist, she is an influential media personality, and she may be successful in its field and service, and the field of electronic media is open to all," Tamash indicated.

Tamash, who holds a master's degree in media from the Middle East University and a BA in sociology and business administration from the University of Jordan, began her studies in journalism at the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation during her study.

At the beginning of her work, Tamash presented a special program for children, which was screened on Jordanian television and then began to offer a variety of programs between the various, the technical, the national and the social.

She has prepared and presented a new program that highlights successful national figures and her life in the various fields of life, medicine, economics, politics and more. She is preparing to publish her first book, which brings together the views of a group of writers from the Arab world.

Tamash aspires to present an international TV, show to travel around the world to host the VIPs to take their opinions and advice to the peoples, shed light on the suffering of innocent people from injustice and war and hunger and displacement, and can draw a smile of reassurance on the lips of terrified children, women, the elderly and men.
