Qatari channel Al Jazeera Casablanca – Yousra Mostafa Arabstoday was informed that the Moroccan authorities stopped a show for the Qatari channel Al Jazeera from being filmed. It was supposed to have hosted Lahbib Choubani, the Minister for Relations with Parliament and Civil Society. A source told Arabstoday that Choubani withdrew from the show after the ban. The security men justified their intervention under the pretext that the production company did not obtain a filming permit. They confiscated the camera tapes, even though they do not contain any footage. The same source added that a local security commander, accompanied by a Royal Gendarmerie, went to the private villa where the filming took place and confirmed that the company did not have the filming permit despite filming licences are only needed to film public areas. When the company presented all the required licences and clarified that filming in homes does not require any permit, the commander insisted that filming in homes is prevented in case pornographic films are being made in secret.
