The large number of Kuwaiti students seeking higher education in Jordan reflected the strong relations between our two brotherly nations, said Jordanian Minister of Higher Education Ameen Mahmoud here late Tuesday.
Speaking on the sidelines of a meeting for the Council of Arab Cultural Attaches in Jordan, Mahmoud said that the 6,500 Kuwaiti students seeking higher degrees and education in Jordan were treated "as if they were Jordanians", affirming that such treatment was surely given to the some 13,000 Jordanian students in Kuwait.
The official hoped that the two countries would continue to further bolster relations within the education and higher education domain.
The council's meeting, attended by 54 Arab academics, focused on coordinating efforts within the Arab higher education arena.
The council, headed by Kuwait's Cultural Office President in Amman Dr. Mohammad Al-Dhefeeri, was established in 1978 to provide cultural and academic services for Arab students.
