The head of Arab Parliament has praised a resolution passed by the UN General Assembly to raise the Palestinian flag at the UN headquarters in New York.
In a statement on Friday, Ahmed Al Jarwan said that raising the Palestinian flag is a Palestinian right and another step towards receiving full membership of the UN.
On Thursday, the United Nations has overwhelmingly voted in favor of raising a flag of Palestine at its headquarters in New York City in a symbolic move giving hope to Palestinians to gain full UN membership.
A resolution was adopted with 119 in favor, eight voting against - including Israel and the United States - and 45 abstentions.
