OIC
Jeddah - Arab Today

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the provocative meeting of the Israeli cabinet in the Syrian Golan Heights and the statements of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Golan will be under the control of Israel forever.

The OIC considered the statements and the actions of the Israeli government as dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation to the international laws.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani said that his organization will call for holding a meeting to the representatives of the member countries to discuss the recent statements of Netanyahu on occupied Golan Heights.

Madani stressed the OIC stance that considers the Golan a Syrian Arab territory, adding that the organization urges ending the Israeli occupation to all the Arab territories since 1967 including the Golan.

The ongoing Israeli occupation threatens security and peace in the region and the whole world, the statement read.
