Pakistan on Saturday condemned the terrorist attack in Turkey's Kayseri Province which killed and injured dozens of security personnel.

"We condemn in the strongest possible terms the terrorist attack that took place in Kayseri today, reportedly resulting in the loss of precious lives of 13 personnel of the Turkish Armed Forces, and injuring 48 others," Pakistani Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj Aziz said.

"We are deeply pained and anguished that this heinous act of terrorism comes within a few days of the terrorist attack in Besiktas district of Istanbul, in which 44 precious lives were lost and scores were wounded," he said.

Turkish officials were quoted as saying that a suicide car bomb targeted a public bus carrying off-duty troops near a university campus.

"We reiterate our unwavering solidarity with Turkey and reaffirms strong belief that the brotherly people of Turkey would be successful in their resolute fight against the scourge of terrorism," Aziz said.

The Pakistani adviser said that there is no doubt that the collective will and determination of the people of Turkey would defeat any evil design against the country's peace, stability, prosperity and internal harmony.

He said Pakistani prime minister, the government and the people have extended heartfelt condolences to the Turkish government and its people, as well as to the families of all those who lost their loved ones in this cowardly attack.
