Mohamed Fareh Algeria - Hocine Bousalah Algerian Sheikh, Mohamed Fareh, a well known Arabic language scholar who spent his life defending the language constant, has died at the age of 82 after a long struggle with his illness. Algeria’s Minister of Communication Mohamed el-Said expressed condolences on Wednesday, describing him as a school of knowledge from which many generations graduated and benefited from. Fareh was born in the Algerian city of Milia on May 5, 1930. Despite the difficult conditions that forced him to work as a young child, he managed to memorise the Holy Quran. He joined Ibn-Badice Institute in 1950 where he learnt from the late Ahmed Reda Hoho, while he participated in the North Constantine War in 1955 to gather more knowledge on Islam and culture. Fareh worked as diplomat after Algeria’s independence and studied at the Teachers Institute. He was most appreciated and known for working to defend the Arabic language, Islamic Law and its principles. He founded el-Shaab newspaper in which he worked as journalist for 34 years.
