The Emirates Diplomatic Academy (EDA) continues to organise interactive training courses that are aimed at developing the skills and abilities of the Emirati diplomatic corps.
As part of its commitment to building a talent pool of Emirati professionals who are dedicated to driving the country's international diplomatic initiatives, EDA has now joined hands with The Protocol School of Washington to launch a new course entitled "International Protocol Manager Training” to be held until August 12. The programme will be led by leading international experts.
The course will provide participants with the best skills in protocol relations to raise their competencies in international diplomacy and enhance their performance by adopting global standards in protocol.
Mariam Al Mahmoud, Director of Executive Education at the Emirates Diplomatic Academy, said, "The Academy conducts interactive and integrated training courses that aim to provide participants with the necessary and top-notch skills they need in their diplomatic career. We are committed to adopting the most modern teaching methodologies and curricula to enable our participants to evolve as truly world-class professionals. All our courses are therefore based on a scientific and specialised academic approach that are career-oriented and will boost the performance and efficiency of the participants.”
Al Mahmoud said that the purpose of the "International Protocol Manager Training” course is to discuss and research all areas related to protocol management. It will transform theoretical knowledge and information into practical methodologies that can be adopted in a professional manner across all levels of international diplomacy.
The International Protocol Manager Training will be led by Robert Hickey, Deputy Director of the Protocol School of Washington, and Diane Brown, a recognised pioneer in the protocol training.
The course will provide all requisite information to gain international knowledge relating to the protocols to be followed, and will focus on enhancing the confidence of the participants in their career, as they are exposed to diverse situations that call for a thorough understanding of protocol norms.
The four-day course covers scientific and professional introduction on the design and management of protocols, and professional training on the effective management and good use of emotional intelligence in protocol performance. It is structured to enable participants to gain the highest trust and excellence levels when dealing with VIPs.
The Emirates Diplomatic Academy, founded in 2014, is a prestigious learning community that brings together the best of academia, research and practice through region-specific programmes, cutting edge thought leadership and access to the UAE's finest diplomatic minds. It represents an academic centre for studies, research and reports related to international relations and diplomacy.
