Whale sharks are not threatening to humans
Suez - Sayed Abdullah

Whale sharks are not threatening to humans Suez - Sayed Abdullah Fishermen in Egypt's Suez province have netted a giant whale shark after seven hours of wrestling with the 10-metre, five-tonne fish. The Berket el-Shami trawler dragged the rare catch behind it, before docking at Suez’s Ataka port. Local fisherman gathered round to watch as the shark was weighed in and measured on the pier. The Berket el-Shami’s men said the fish had first been caught in the Gulf of Suez. Despite its size, whale sharks are not threatening to humans – like whales, they are filter-feeders and mainly eat plankton and very small fish.
