Several parts of the UAE received light showers on Sunday, bringing down the temperatures amidst the stormy weather that continued for the third day.
Dusty and hazy conditions will continue today while the sea will remain rough till Tuesday afternoon, according to the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).
Light to moderate showers were witnessed in scattered places across the country on Sunday. The mountainous area of Jebal Madreh, north of Ras Al Khaimah, received 6.2mm rainfall, the highest amount recorded. Saqr Port, Al Manama, Damtha and Al Ain Airport area also received the showers. It drizzled in many areas in Dubai and Sharjah.
"Now the amount of clouds is decreasing and the remaining clouds embedded with light rain are expected to fall to the far North on Monday,” said a forecaster.
North-westerly wind is accelerating, he said, causing the seas to be rough in the Arabian Gulf. "The sea will remain rough to very rough till Tuesday afternoon,” he said, warning beachgoers and fishermen.
The maximum temperature recorded on Sunday was 27.6 degree C, dipping drastically from the maximum temperature of 35.8 degree C on Saturday.
Temperature dipped to the least in the mountain of Jebal Al Jais while the lowest inland temperature was recorded at 11.5degree C in Al Gheweifat, far to the Western Region.
Relative humidity will increase by tonight, with a chance of fog over the internal areas. Further drop in temperature is expected on Tuesday.
