US television and radio personality Ryan Seacrest has signed a two-year contract with NBC, extending his duties to the "Today" show and prime time news. As part of the deal, Seacrest will scale back his presence on E! and become a special correspondent for "Today" and will contribute to NBC prime time news, entertainment programming and Olympics coverage this summer, The Hollywood Reporter said Friday. "We look forward to his continued role on E! and to having him appear on many new places across NBCUniversal, including the Today show and at the Olympics," said NBCUniversal Chief Executive Steve Burke. "This is a great example of how NBCUniversal is able to provide the perfect home for some of the best people in the business." "I'm especially looking forward to working with all the stellar on-air talents and producing executives involved in NBC's news, entertainment and sports divisions, and I'm eager and excited to take on this broader new role," Seacrest said. Seacrest last week renewed his contract with "American Idol," signing on for another two years as host for $30 million. The dollar amount on his NBCUniversal contract was not reported.
