Egyptian parliamentarian Ibrahim Nazeer criticized the performance of Egyptian government and its recent decisions, describing the recent decision to increase the price of Metro ticket as a big mistake. He warned of a new wave of protests if the government has not taken serious measure to resolve the crisis.
She added, in an interview with “Arabs Today”, the government suffers from a state of confusion, as it turned to increase the pressure on the low-income citizens who are screaming from the increasing suffering. He described the decision to increase the metro price as the big mistake committed by the government against the poor citizens who struggle against serious critical conditions.
He stressed that the current economic position comes as a result of policies adopted for years, saying that he expressed support for the economic decisions before, while he criticizes the government for not considering the repercussions of such decisions and the ways to treat them.
He added that the major dilemma is the governmental trend not to announce the facts and the absence of coordination between the cabinet's members. He stressed that the government had no clear strategy or a political vision to resolve this problem.
He stressed the need for taking serious measures to eliminate corruption as soon as possible, calling the government for targeting those people who stole the country’s money during the last decades to take serious measures against them.
He added that the major job of the parliament is to plan and legislate the laws, while not to execute these plans, adding that the execution is the major role of the government. He added that the lack of supervision is the major factor for the current deteriorating position witnessed in the country.
He stressed that the major dilemma facing the government is how to provide the hard currency, stressing that they should take serious measures to revive the tourism industry and to support production to achieve self-sufficiency to pave the way for increasing Egypt’s exports during the coming period
