London - Arab Today

Sam Allardyce will stay on as West Ham manager next season but must produce "more entertainment" on the field, the Premier League club said on Tuesday. After lengthy clear-the-air talks with the West Ham board, Allardyce was also told he must aim for "at least a top-ten finish" next season. West Ham struggled to avoid relegation in the just-completed season and Allardyce was targeted by supporters over his direct style of play and signings who failed to shine. A statement released by the club said: "After listening to feedback from supporters, the board have insisted on improvements to the set-up of the playing and backroom staff to ensure the team provides more entertainment next season." A number of Allardyce's high-profile signings, including Andy Carroll, Stewart Downing and Matt Jarvis failed to make a significant impact. Source: AFP
