Abu Dhabi - Arabstoday

Arsene Wenger is going all out to strengthen his defence for the next season. The latest transfer target of Arsenal is £7million-rated Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa. According to a report in The Daily Mirror, Wenger is a big admirer of the 22-year-old centre-back, who was born in the Central African Republic but moved to France as a youngster. Newcastle are also said to be watching the versatile star, who has already expressed a desire to play in the Premier League. The report quoted Yanga-Mbiwa as saying: “People live for football in England, and that is what I want to experience. “I’ll see what offers I get, but English football is incredible. There is more physical contact than in France, but I like that - it suits my style of play.”
