Bayern Munich made it five wins out of five at the start of the Bundesliga season with a comfortable 3-0 win over Wolfsburg at the Allianz Arena. Jupp Heynckes' side were even able to take it easy in a one-sided game after Bastian Schweinsteiger put them in front midway through the first half. Two headed goals from former Wolfsburg striker Mario Mandzukic in the second half sealed all three points for Bayern, who moved two points clear at the top of the table with their seventh win out of seven in all competitions. Schweinsteiger should have scored in the second minute, but he managed to hit the ball against the post from a yard out with the whole of the goal to aim at after Wolfsburg failed to clear a corner. The Germany international hit the woodwork again in the 18th minute with a shot from distance beating Diego Benaglio, but not his right-hand post. It was a case of third time lucky for Schweinsteiger, who put Bayern in front in the 24th minute, stroking the ball through the legs of Benaglio after Franck Ribery pulled the ball back to him from the goal-line. Wolfsburg began the second half with a bit more life about them after failing to test Manuel Neuer on a single occasion in the first half. Former Bayern striker Ivica Olic got in two shots on goal before Bayern gained a deserved lead in the 57th minute. Xherdan Shaqiri used all of his strength to power his way down the left wing and get in a cross for Mandzukic, who rose above the half-hearted attempt at a challenge by Rodriguez and headed in from close range. Eight minutes later, Mandzukic made it three with another header, this time from Philipp Lahm's cross from the right, and this time against Naldo. There was never going to be a way back into the game for Wolfsburg and Bayern were able to move down the gears to save their energy for Werder Bremen at the weekend, and BATE Borisov in the UEFA Champions League next week. Elsewhere in the German top flight on Tuesday, Eintracht Frankfurt drew Borussia Dortmund 3-3 while Schalke hammered Mainz and Greuther Furth lost 2-0 to Fortuna Dusseldorf. From : Fifa
