Brussels - Arab Today

Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc on Tuesday confirmed that he will send out his strongest possible team against Anderlecht in Wednesday's Champions League Group C clash. PSG hammered Bastia 4-0 in Ligue 1 with a much-changed side at the weekend and should have the strength in depth to see off the Belgian champions, who are fifth in their domestic league just now. However, Blanc warned his side not to be complacent at the Stade Constant Vanden Stock and indicated that the likes of Edinson Cavani, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Maxwell, Marco Verratti and Thiago Motta will all return to the starting XI. "There is always a risk of underestimating the opposition when you come off a good match domestically and you have won your first games in the Champions League," said Blanc, whose team won their first two Group C games against Olympiakos and Benfica. "It could lead to complacency. But if I see my players too relaxed at the start I will try to make sure that doesn't last long. "I've warned the players that every team wants to beat PSG. There are no easy games. "The team will be different," he added. "It will be the best team I can possibly put out to beat Anderlecht." Cavani, who came off the bench against Bastia to score twice in the second half, including one wonderful solo goal, may have to make do with a place on the flanks against the Belgians with Zlatan Ibrahimovic playing through the middle. Blanc, though, insists that he is not too worried about where to accomodate the club's record signing. "Cavani is a central striker, that's true, but he also needs spaces," he said. "I don't think he feels too bad on the right wing. This whole debate only prevents some journalists from sleeping at night." Blanc added that captain Thiago Silva is close to a return after injury, but Christophe Jallet has a calf problem and Javier Pastore (thigh) is not yet ready to play again. Meanwhile, Anderlecht's Dutch coach John Van den Brom admitted that his team will be the outsiders in Wednesday's encounter having lost both their opening games. "Anderlecht always play to win, and that will be the case tomorrow," he said. "But I am not stupid. I know that we will be up against PSG. Players of the class of Cavani and Ibrahimovic do not need many chances to put the ball in the net. "That team has everything: the squad, the budget, the collective," he added when asked if he thought PSG could win the Champions League this season. Source: AFP
