Brazil won the second edition of the Superclasico de las Americas 4-3 on penalties after slipping to a 2-1 defeat in the second leg in Buenos Aires. Brazil won the first leg of the Superclasico, played between the two biggest national teams in South America and featuring only players who play in the two countries' domestic leagues, 2-1 in Goiania back in September. They could not achieve that, losing 2-1 thanks to two goals in the last 10 minutes from Ignacio Scocco which sandwiched a reply from Fred, but they edged the shoot-out to take the title. At Boca Juniors' La Bombonera stadium, Brazil dominated the early possession, but it was Argentina forward Juan-Manuel Martinez who had the first big chance as his bicycle kick slipped past the right post in the 24th minute. Four minutes later, Paulinho's right-foot shot was turned behind by Argentina keeper Agustin Orion. The second half saw Argentina take a surprise lead after a foul by Jean on Martinez in the area, with Scocco beating Brazil keeper Diego Cavalieri from the penalty spot in the 81st minute. Only two minutes later, Fred equalised by deflecting the ball after an attempt by Jean. Argentinian fans thought Brazil were about to take the crown back home, but Walter Montillo started a counter-attack and passed the ball to Scocco, who netted his second goal in the last minute of the game. That goal meant the match went to penalties but Argentina never recovered after Martinez and Montillo failed with their opening two spot-kicks. Brazil star Neymar finally gave A Selecao the title to complete two Superclasico trophies out of two. "To win this title if very important because Argentina have great players, great talent. We are very happy," Neymar told Argentina's Channel 7. From :FIFA
