Ma Long, Zhang Jike and Wang Hao collected a gold medal in men's Olympic team table tennis Wednesday, finishing a perfect showing in the sport for China. Ma and Zhang won singles matches over opponents from South Korea and Zhang then teamed with Wang to capture the doubles match. It was the 35th gold medal of the Olympics for China with 19 of them having come in diving, badminton, weightlifting and table tennis. The Chinese won a maximum six medals in table tennis, finishing first and second in both the men's and women's singles competitions in addition to winning both team events. Ma opened with a win over 2004 Olympics singles champion Seung-min Ryu. Zhang then downed Sae-hyuk Joo in the second singles match. The doubles victory for Ma and Wang came over Ryu and Sangeun Oh. Germany won the bronze medal with a decision over Hong Kong in the third-place match.
