PSV Eindhoven coach Fred Rutten said in an interview published Friday he will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season. Rutten told Dutch daily de Volkskrant, “it’s time PSV and I let one another go.” Rutten is in his third season at the Eindhoven club, which is second in the Dutch Eredivisie league after finishing third in his first two seasons in charge. PSV also remains in contention for the Dutch cup and Europa League. Rutten has previously coached Dutch club Twente and Schalke in the German Bundesliga. PSV said in a reaction on its website that it respected Rutte’s decision. “I have no doubts about the rest of the season,” technical manager Marcel Brands said. “Fred is a true professional. He and the players want to reach the top and that won’t change.”
