Two goals apiece from Wang Shuang and veteran Ma Xiaoxu helped Dalian beat Shandong 4-0 at home in the third round of the Chinese Women's Super League (CWSL) on Sunday, and lifted Dalian to top the CWSL list, followed by Changchun and Shanghai.
After a scoreless first half, Wang Shuang broke the ice for Dalian in the 46th minute as she got the passing from Ma Xiaoxu and kicked the ball into the net. Ten minutes later, Ma Xiaoxu scored after a one-on-one dual with the goalie to expand the lead. Wang Shuang and Ma Xiaoxu scored one more goal respectively to help Dalian beat Shandong 4-0 at home.
With the run of three successive wins, Dalian climbed to the top of CWSL table.
Changchun suffered their first loss in the new season as they were beaten 1-0 by the visiting Shanghai. Tang Jiali's superb strike from the right edge of the penalty area in the 52nd minute helped Shanghai take the lead and win the game eventually.
Beijing was held 0-0 with Jiangsu in the third round, the one point after the draw was the first one in the new season for Beijing as they lost in the first two rounds.
Tianjin got their first victory of the season by beating Chinese Army 5-0 at home, which left Chinese Army the only team suffering three consecutive defeats and got no points so far.
The fourth round will kick off on April 30th.
