Bologna have completed the signing of Alberto Gilardino from Genoa for an undisclosed fee. The 30-year-old striker, who only signed a four-year contract at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in January, has now been allowed to link up with Stefano Pioli's Rossoblu. Gilardino made his name for Bologna's local rivals Parma, even scoring a critical goal as his new employers were relegated in a two-legged play-off final in 2005. The Piemontese forward soon earned a move to AC Milan, with whom he won the UEFA Champions League in 2007 before joining Fiorentina a year later. He was also part of Marcello Lippi's FIFA World Cup™-winning squad of 2006 and has scored 17 goals in 47 appearances for Gli Azzurri. Borriello arrives Following Gilardino's departure, Genoa moved quickly to secure Marco Borriello as a replacement. The 30-year-old striker enjoyed a memorable season in Liguria, scoring 19 goals in 35 appearances, before earning a transfer to I Rossoneri in 2008. Borriello then signed for Roma following a successful loan spell at the Stadio Olimpico, but soon found himself surplus to requirements under new coach Luis Enrique. A brief move to Juventus failed to develop into a permanent transfer but the experienced forward has been given the opportunity to prove himself in Genoa once again, this time under the management of Luigi De Canio.
