Hannover piled the pressure on their former coach Mirko Slomka with a 2-0 victory over his Hamburg side - who are yet to score in the Bundesliga this season. Leon Andreasen and Artur Sobiech netted the goals, which take the Reds into a share of top spot with Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen. But the result could well signal the end for Slomka given Hamburg have only picked up one point and are currently rock bottom of the standings after three games.
Augsburg boss Markus Weinzierl was in a similar predicament heading into this weekend's action, but his side took the weight off his shoulders with a 1-0 win at Eintracht Frankfurt. Raul Bobadilla, who had earlier had an effort ruled out for offside, scored the only goal in the second half to condemn Frankfurt to their first defeat.
