Patrick Herrmann has signed a new four-year contract with Borussia Monchengladbach. The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a new deal until 2019, when he will have been at the club for 11 years.
"We're absolutely delighted to have been able to tie Patrick down to us and that he wants to continue along this successful path with us," said Gladbach's director of sport Max Eberl. "Patrick has made the step up from being a youth player to a Bundesliga player with us, and we're pleased that he wants to take the next step in his career here."
Gladbach, Germany goals
Herrmann has been in particularly fine form this season with eight goals in 24 appearances. He expressed his delight in being offered a new contract with the club he joined at the age of 17.
"I really enjoy playing for Borussia and I feel that the club and the bosses have faith in me," Herrmann said on his club's official website. "We've got great fans and a distinctive stadium. I feel at home here.
"These things are what I need to be able to progress successfully in my career, including getting back into the national team.
"I still have big ambitions with Borussia. Our games this season in the Europa League have given us the taste for more. I would like to be successful with the club at home and in Europe."
