Kelantan, Navibank saigon play to scoreless draw

Kelantan played to a scoreless draw in their opening encounter against Navibank Saigon in Group H of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil, Wednesday night. Despite banking their hopes on four imported players before 5,000 partisan supporters, Kelantan failed to find the net in the evenly contested match. The Vietnamese club gave Kelantan an early scare as early as the eight minute through Dang Khanh Lam, but the attempt found the safe pair of hands of goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat. Kelantan's import, Mohamad Ghaddar squandered a chance in the 26th minute when his stinging shot went wide. The soggy pitch due to heavy downpour proved difficult for both teams.
