London - Arabstoday

Borussia Dortmund coach Jürgen Klopp recognises his side's need to achieve their first win of the UEFA Champions League campaign against Olympiacos FC, but he has insisted that the hosts will not be so naive as to adopt an overly offfensive appraoch against a team well-versed in the counterattack. Klopp has called on the home fans to help the German champions roar at last, while his opposite number Ernesto Valverde is just hoping his side keep up with their zestful Group F rivals. Dortmund Coach Jürgen Klopp We have not just been our own worst enemy so far, our opponents have also been quick to capitalise on our mistakes. People seem to have forgotten that so far we have had only one home match and that was a draw against Arsenal. So we are counting on winning these two home matches now. We know fully well that we have to win but we will approach it in a very disciplined way, and we need the support of our fans for that. Those expecting us to go all out at Olympiacos and allow them to hit us on the counterattack should think again. We have 90 minutes to win the match and want to use them. We will change our tactics, so that we win this time, but I cannot reveal any more than that. Our sole goal is to win. We will take any result that is a victory; everything else is of secondary importance. It was impressive to see how much passion Olympiacos showed in the first game, when they battled for every last centimetre. We knew beforehand that they had extraordinary footballers. They will lie in wait for their chance and then try to take full advantage. Weekend result Saturday: VfB Stuttgart 1-1 Dortmund (Tasci 22; Piszczek 45+1) Weidenfeller; Piszczek, Suboti?, Hummels, Schmelzer; Bender (Leitner 46), Kehl; Götze, Kagawa, Periši? (Grosskreutz 76); Lewandowski (Barrios 72) • ?ukasz Piszczek scored the Schwarzgelben's 1,000th away goal in the top flight as Dortmund's run of four successive Bundesliga wins ended. FC Bayern München are five points ahead of the German title holders at the summit, with FC Schalke 04 separating the pair. Team news Mohamed Zidan (thigh) and Marvin Bakalorz (Achilles) are nearing full fitness after long-term injuries, while Sven Bender remains doubtful with ankle-joint problems. Patrick Owomoyela has been out for three weeks with an adductor problem, the same problem that prevented midfielder Mario Götze from taking part in full training. The German international should, however, be fit to play. Olympiacos Coach Ernesto Valverde Tomorrow is a very important match, for both teams. The side that manage to impose their style on the match will win. Dortmund are a side who play with a lot of pace and we will try to keep up with them. If we succeed, it will be a very important win for us. We have hardly had any time to work on anything since our last league match, but tomorrow it's the Champions League so that makes it an entirely different matter anyway. At our ground BVB had two or three chances in the first five or six minutes and tomorrow we will have to play like that too, to create chances to win. I'll be rather concerned if they create more chances than they did last time around, but Dortmund didn't really have that many chances. And we are talking about BVB here – a side who are very good going forward. If we play badly, I will be happy with a draw. If we play well, I will not be pleased with a draw. Our goal for tomorrow is to play well and to win. Weekend result Saturday: Olympiacos 2-2 OFI Crete FC (Djebbour 45+1, Mirallas 62; Mantzios 74, Georgiou 77) Costanzo; Maniatis, Mellberg, Marcano, Holebas; Orbaiz (Modesto 70), Makoun (Panteli? 80); Abdoun (Ibagaza 46), Fetfatzidis, Mirallas; Djebbour • Rafik Djebbour took his tally to four goals in Olympiacos's last three games in all competitions but, having enjoyed a 100% record at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium last term, Saturday's draw ended the Piraeus club's run of 17 consecutive home league wins. Team news • Vassilis Torossidis has travelled to Dortmund after passing a fitness test on a rib injury suffered in action for Greece on 7 October. Ljubomir Fejsa is also available after an ankle knock sustained on international duty while Avraam Papadopoulos is on the mend after a bout of flu. Francisco Yeste (knee) and David Fuster (rib) are out. Match fact Olympiacos are in their 13th participation in the UEFA Champions League. Between 1997 and 2008 they competed in the competition for 11 successive years.
