A brace by midfielder Francisco Wanderson helped Krasnodar climb to sixth in the Russian Premier League with a 3-0 home win over Volga Nizhny Novgorod on Saturday. Krasnodar's victory moved them onto 11 points from seven matches, as they remained six points behind leaders CSKA Moscow. The hosts started promisingly and they took the lead in the 11th minute through Wanderson, who collected Pavel Mamaev's pass on the edge of the Volga area before firing past goalkeeper Mikhail Komarov. Wanderson then netted his second on 32 minutes from close range after getting on the end of compatriot Joaozinho's precise delivery from the left. Joaozinho further increased Krasnodar's lead just before half-time, slotting home from about ten yards after a mix-up in the Volga defence to cap a convincing victory. Meanwhile, Terek Grozny and Anzhi Makhachkala played out a 1-1 draw in the North Caucasus derby. Anzhi, whose firesale has seen them part ways with several of their best players including Chelsea-bound duo Willian and Samuel Eto'o, grabbed the lead in the 33rd minute through Brazil full-back Santos Ewerton, who nodded home from a corner. However, Anzhi failed to cling onto their narrow lead as Terek's forward Ailton Almeida levelled from the penalty spot with three minutes remaining after Brazilian midfielder Kanu was fouled in the box. The result left both clubs still searching for their first win of the season and languishing on three points from seven matches, with only Tomsk below them in the table. "We played not bad for a new team as currently Anzhi are a completely new team," Makhachkala manager Gadzhi Gadzhiev said. "The draw seems to be a logical result of the match as we lacked accuracy in converting our chances into goals, missing too many opportunities tonight." Second-place Lokomotiv Moscow travel to Zenit St Petersburg on Sunday, while Rostov, who are level on 13 points with Lokomotiv, are away to Dinamo Moscow. From : FIFA
