Liverpool are reportedly tracking Roma striker Bojan Krkic who is said to be unhappy at the Stadio Olimpico after failing to secure a regular first team spot since his move to the Serie A side from Barcelona last summer. Anfield’s director of football Damien Comolli has had the pint-sized attacker scouted ahead of a possible summer bid from the Merseyside club. The 21-year-old Spanish international cost Roma a fee of £11m but is the subject of a fairly complicated transfer exchange that will require Luis Enrique’s side having to fork out a hefty sum to buy the player outright with Barcelona able to exercise a buyback option if they so desire. However Pep Guardiola has seen a number of young talents burst onto the scene in the wide and striking areas that Bojan plies his trade, most notably Pedro, Cristian Tello and Isaac Cuenca, this would mean a move back to the Catalan club is unlikely but leaves Roma having to think long and hard about signing the adaptable attacker outright. This leaves Comolli looking to sneak in and capture the striker as he looks to bring in suitable attacking options that can help beef up a front-line that has struggled for goals this season. Kenny Dalglish has tried to play Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll as a strike pairing but has watched as the duo fail to gel and to cap things off Liverpool lack back up options or impact players who can help support Suarez who currently bears the lions share of the goal scoring burden. Liverpool were strongly linked with Bojan during Rafa Benitez’s tenure at the club and the talented young forward has a great deal of top level experience and a desire to get his career back on track and a move to the Premier League may well tempt the forward as he looks to get himself back into the Vicente del Bosque’s national team set-up. Bojan Krkic made over 150 appearances for Barcelona, notching up 41 goals in the process, but has spent most of the current campaign on the Roma bench as Enrique opts for his preferred pairing of Pablo Osvaldo and Fabio Borini up front.
