Johannesburg - AFP

Bernard Parker raised his goal tally to seven from five league matches as Kaizer Chiefs defeated Bidvest Wits 3-1 on Monday to go five points clear at the top of the South African Premiership. A 32,000 public-holiday crowd at Mbombela stadium in north-eastern city Nelspruit saw Parker score twice in the first half, Calvin Kadi halve the deficit with 10 minutes left and Lehlohonolo Majoro complete the scoring. It was a game of two halves with Chiefs dominating the first and causing constant problems with low crosses before Wits introduced Asive Langwe at the break and his creative work on the right flank deserved greater reward. But the night belonged to Parker. Mbombela is his lucky ground as he scored both goals for Bafana Bafana (The Boys) there this month in a 2-0 friendly victory over Mozambique.
