The coach of Qatar national football team selected 23 players to represent Qatar in the 2012 AFC U-19 Championship to be held in United Arab Emirates from November 3-17, 2012. The selected players are Abdullah Al-Selaiti, Sergin Abdo, Abdulmajed Enad, Ahmad Alaadin, Mohammad Alaadin, Sultan Al-Kuwari, Hesham Kamal, Muhanad Naeem, Musaab Khedr, Saleh Al-Yazidi, Abdulkarim Hassan, Saoud Al-Khalaqi, Huzaifa Al-Salmi, Ali Mohmmad, Yousef Hassan, Ahmad Fahdel, Ahmad Muaeen, Ahmad Mohammad, Fahad Younis Ahmad, Ali Qaderi, Mohammad Shaaban, Ahmad Yaser, and Abdulaziz Adel. The competition is held every two years and is open to players under the age of 19 and also acts as a qualifying tournament for the FIFA U-20 World Cup. The top four sides in the AFC Youth Championship will advance to the FIFA U-20 World Cup to be played in Colombia next year.
