Swansea have confirmed they have agreed a fee with Hoffenheim for Gylfi Sigurdsson and that the player has accepted personal terms As exclusively revealed by skysports.com last week, Swansea were on the verge of landing the Iceland international after agreeing a £6.8million fee with the German club for Sigurdsson. The 22-year-old enjoyed a successful spell on loan at the Liberty Stadium during the second half of this season and Swansea were always keen to make the move permanent. Sigurdsson scored seven goals in 18 Premier League appearances for Swansea and quickly established himself as a firm fans' favourite. Swansea have now broken their transfer record for Sigurdsson with the former Reading man set to have a medical later this week before finalising the move to South Wales. Delighted "Swansea City can confirm a transfer fee and personal terms have been agreed for Hoffenheim midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson," said a statement. "A club record offer of £6.8million has been accepted by the German club, and the 22-year-old is expected in Swansea later this week to undergo a medical before the move is confirmed. "The club are delighted to have agreed terms with both player and club following Sigurdsson's hugely successful loan spell last season." It means Sigurdsson will become Swansea's first signing of the summer as they look to build on their impressive first campaign in the Premier League.
