Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk has extended his contract by another four years and will now guide the Oranje until 2016. Van Marwijk's current deal was due to expire following next summer's UEFA EURO 2012 but he will now lead the Netherlands' bid for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ and EURO 2016. The former Feyenoord and Borussia Dortmund coach, who took over the Dutch job in 2008 and masterminded their run to the 2010 FIFA World Cup final in South Africa, told ONS Oranje: "I have often said I am very happy with the Dutch FA [KNVB]. If I have a good feeling [about staying], I think it's OK to remain here for a long time." However, there has been talk of a clause in the new deal which would allow Van Marwijk to speak to a leading European club should one make an offer for his services. And the 59-year-old suggested he would have an escape route if an intriguing offer came along. He added: "The KNVB wants security but I also have the space to decide on my future, but only if there is an opportunity that comes at the right time in my life." Under Van Marwijk, the Netherlands have played 45 games, winning 31.
