The activities of the 1st Junior National Olympics kicked off on Thursday with the participation of 4000 players from all the Syrian governorates to compete in 23 games. The event is organized by the General Sports Union in Damascus, Damascus Countryside, Aleppo and al-Quneitra. Chairman of the General Sports Union / Damascus Countryside Branch Abdo Farah said the governorate equipped all stadiums and halls for this event and assigned al-Dimas Facility for Equestrian competitions, al-Nabek Hall for handball, Vanguards' Camp Hall for Karate and Taekwondo Sport, Deir Attiya Hall for dueling and Douma Hall for volleyball and badminton. Quneitra sport halls and stadiums are preparing to host the competitions of chess, cycles, triathlon, wrestling and judo. Today's competitions started in Aleppo with the participation of 597 players representing all the Syrian governorates. They include basketball, tennis, boxing, weightlifting and gymnastics.
