Nine Iraqis were killed and other 36 wounded on Tuesday as areas in Baghdad were hit by a car bomb and mortars and Katyusha rockets.
A car bomb went off near a popular cafe in Al-Hurriya district, north of the capital, followed by the fall of mortars that also struck the neighboring Al-Dola'i area. Eight people, mostly civilians were killed and another 27 injured. The cafe and nearby shops were damaged.
Katyusha rockets hit the small town of Sabaa Al-Bour north of Baghdad where an Iraqi was killed and five wounded.
Other four civilians were injured when mortars fell on Al-Shu'la area, west of the city.
These blasts came few hours after explosions hit areas in Babel governorate, south of the capital, and Karbala and Basra, claiming a civilian's life and 19 casualties.
