Al Jazira Club are set to renew Brazilian Abel Braga's contract as head coach, according to well-placed sources. Braga led the club to Etisalat Cup glory last season and this time around has so far won the President's Cup for the first time in the club's history, with three more points needed to secure the UAE Pro-League (UFL) title, also for the first time. Newspaper reports in Brazil have linked Braga with several clubs back home, but he has refused to talk to them because he wanted to finish his contract with Al Jazira and maintain his focus on the final few games of the UFL. Braga's contract expires at the end of this season but the club is determined not to lose their coach, currently the longest serving in the whole of the UFL. Meanwhile, the club are still considering an offer from Internacional for midfielder Rafael Sobis, who is currently on loan at the Brazilian club. Internacional want to extend the loan deal for another year. Preparations At the same time, the club's second team is preparing to leave for Qatar to meet Al Gharaha in the AFC Champions League this week as the first team will prepare for the club's UFL match against Al Wasl at the weekend. A win would secure the title for Al Jazira in the 18th week of the competition.
