Kuwait's Al-Kuwait Sports Club on Monday defeated Oman's Ahli Sedab club 29-22 in the Asian Club Handball League Championship held in the Qatari capital of Doha.
The Kuwaiti team did a great job in the first half of the match, finishing it with a 15-8 lead, thanks to its skilled players, Mohammad Al-Gharabally, a Kuwaiti team player, told KUNA following the game.
The team began the match with a high spirit and determination to demonstrate a high level of performance in order to make an early advance, he added.
The Kuwaiti team is resolved to start immediate preparations for the next game with Iran's Manyazium Ferdows on Wednesday, Al-Gharaballay noted.
Meanghile, the game between Kuwait's Al-Qurain and Qatar's Al-Ghrafa sporting club ended in a 25-25 tie within the framework of the same championship.
The game was so hard that both Gulf teams were determined to lead the game from the very beginning with a view to advancing to the next round, the Kuwaiti side's head coach Khaled Ghloum told KUNA.
They finished the first half 11-11, he said, regretting that his team had lost many chances in the six-meter zone.
The Kuwaiti team will face Qatar's Lekhwiya club in the coming match.
