Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal hosts Sunday evening at the El-Mithak residency (Algiers) a dinner in honor of ES Setif players, winners of the CAF Champions League over the Congolese AS Vita Club.
Members of the government, senior state officials, members of the Council of the Nation and the National People's Assembly (Houses of Parliament) as well as sports and political figures were present at the dinner.
"I congratulate you on this beautiful and resounding victory which coincides with the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the outbreak of the War of National Liberation. You showed to the world that the Algerian youth believes in the future of Algeria," Sellal said in a brief statement read on behalf of President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
Prime Minister has also highlighted the excellent state of spirit which marked the group during this tournament, underlining the "tradition of victory of ES Setif." He has also encouraged the players to clinch further victories.
“I have always believed in this team that I hope it will shine Club World Cup in Marrakech, Morocco," the premier said.
As for him, President of ES Setif club Hassan Hamar thanked all those who supported the team, especially President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, promising to do everything possible to confirm the title on both the African and international stage.
"I hail the players of ES Setif who were determined to win the prestigious cup" with "a remarkable team spirit all throughout the competition," Hassan Hamar told the press.
President of ES Setif hoped "the best is to come."
