Arun V won the men’s doubles title at the Ali Bin Ali Qatar Open Badminton Championships, adding to the singles crown he had won earlier. Arun and his partner Pramod Kumar defeated Manoj Sahibjan and Alex Rosca 21 – 18, 21 – 17 in a very tense match which saw both set of players fought gallantly.Don Henley Averia took the boys under-13 title, beating Said Sayed Mohamed 21-13, 21-9. The girls doubles title was won by Galu Maharani and Nadira Salsabila who defeated Krishna Pramod Kumar and Kavya Nair. In the penultimate game of the championships Ahmed Yehya Abdul Khadar defeated his younger brother Mohamed Yehya Abdul Khadar 21 -19, 21 – 16 to win the under-19 boys’ singles. The finals were attended by Hisham al-Gosaibi, President, Qatar Badminton Association, along with other board members from the association. Results Under-13 boys singles final: Don Henley Averia bt Saif Sayed Mohamed 21 – 13, 21 – 9. Under-16 girls doubles final: Galu Maharani & Nadira Salsabila bt Krishna Pramod Kumar & Kavya K Nair 21 – 16, 21 – 14.
