Manama - BNA

Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the 17th Annual American Mission Hospital (AMH) Island Classic Charity golf tournament will be held from November 20 to 22.
This came as His Majesty the King's Advisor for Youth and Sport Affairs Saleh Bin Hindi received here a delegation from the American Mission Hospital.
Commenting on the visit, AMH CEO/CMO Dr. George Cheriyan said: "It was our honor to be granted an audience with HE Saleh Bin Hindi, His Majesty the King’s Advisor to discuss the upcoming Island Classic Charity golf tournament which His Majesty has patronised for the past 17 years. With the continued support of His Majesty the King, we are able to continue our service to the people of Bahrain as this golf tournament raises funds for purchasing new equipment and upgrading our services."
The three-day tournament, which will accommodate the golfing demands of the Sponsors of the Island Classic, will be held Al-Safriya golf course.
Senior Manager Fundraising, Community and Marketing and Island Classic Organizer Bahnaz Abbas said " Thanks to the kind Patronage of His Majesty the King over the past seventeen years, the Island Classic has become recognized as a first class golf tournament and a major event in the sporting calendar. The tournament has incredible popularity and the enthusiasm of golfers to compete in the Island Classic seems to have intensified. Funds raised so far this year are 64,000 cash and 42,500 in kind donations."
