Deputy Prime Minister, Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, today awarded leading places winners of Sixth Bahrain International Junior Men's Tennis Championship at the final ceremony held at Bahrain Tennis Club (BTC).
The award ceremony was attended by HM the King's Advisor for Youth Affairs and Sport, Saleh bin Isa bin Hindi, President of General Organization for Youth and Sports (GOYS), Hisham Mohammed Al Jowder, a number of ambassadors to Bahrain, BTC Chairman, Khamis Al-Mukla and a large crowd of tennis fans in Bahrain.
Golden sponsors of the tournament also attended, including Ibrahim Khalil Kanoo Company Board member, Talal Kanoo, BAPCO Board Chairman, Adil Al-Moayyad and representative from Solidarity Company, Jalal Ugla.
Deputy Premier, in his speech, expressed delight in patronizing the tournament, which was held under the supervision of the International Tennis Federation.
He appreciated the organizational efforts that made the tournament successful, which has been held for the sixth consecutive year.
He said such international tournaments provide provides a good opportunity for Bahraini youth to compete against players from around the world and to move toward broader horizons.
He praised the development materialized by the game in Bahrain, and wished BTC officials, organizers and the players contested to achieve more successes.
He presented the first place winner, Saudi player Ammar Al-Hagbani, with a trophy and flowers bouquet, and also presented the tournament's runner up, Syrian player Karim Allaf, with a trophy and flowers bouquet.
Deputy Premier then opened the new BTC administrative building that includes offices, meeting room and other facilities as an initial step of an ambitious development project.
