Ahly have wrapped up the signing of Gabonese striker Malick Evouna from Morocco's Wydad Casablanca, the club said on their official website.
Evouna had announced that an agreement had been reached with Ahly last month. Only 10 days later the Cairo giants confirmed that the 22-year-old joined on a three-year deal.
Evouna, who finished as the Moroccan league top-scorer with 16 goals last season, becomes Ahly's second foreign signing in the summer transfer window after securing the services of Ghanaian hitman John Antwi.
The highly-rated Evouna, who made his international debut in 2012, has been at the centre of a transfer battle between Ahly and archrivals Zamalek.
However, Zamalek recently announced that they pulled out of the race.
Towards the end of an unfruitful season in which Ahly have consistently lagged behind runaway leaders Zamalek in the league title race, the Reds have been keen to strengthen their squad with decent signings in order to challenge for trophies in the upcoming season.
