The semi-finals of the tournament of people with disabilities of Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls will be held at the venue of the league in Khalifa Sports City Hall in Isa Town.


The league is held for the fifth consecutive year under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities.

It is jointly organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, under the slogan #Generations_Meeting and comes as part of the initiative of HH.

Launched on July 24, the league will continue to September 14 and includes 59 teams that represent youth centres, local unregistered clubs, people with disabilities and girls' teams for the first time.

The Movement Disability Team will play Bahrain Deaf Society Team in the first match of the day at 5PM and the Special Olympics Team will play against the Deaf Team at 6PM.

The four teams showed a great performance in the preliminary stages of the league and qualified to the semi-finals of the tournament, which is held for the second year within Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League as per the directives of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.

Mohammed Al-Buainain, Movement Disability Team Player expressed his hopes to qualify to the final match of the league and win their next match against Bahrain Deaf Society Team, adding that the match will witness strong competition considering the good performance shown by their opponent in the previous matches.

The tournament of people with disabilities brought a number of the best players of the game in the Kingdom of Bahrain. One of them is Sayed Noor Al-Weda'ee who participated in the league with the Bahrain Catalysts Association Team. Al-Weda'ee represented the Kingdom in several regional and international disabled sports tournaments since the mid-1990s.
