Get Driver Fit campaign
Abu Dhabi - Arab Today

FLASH Entertainment, in partnership with the National Health Insurance Company – Daman through its initiative ActiveLife, announces the return of the inspiring Get Driver Fit campaign which, launching at Train Yas on September 2, will aim to give everyone in Abu Dhabi the chance to get active with free fitness and sports sessions across the capital, a Press release said.
The campaign is back as part of Yasalam 2014, the annual festival that runs across Abu Dhabi with free concerts, fan activities and community events.
Utilising the hashtag #getdriverfit2014, Get Driver Fit is building on the achievements of its inaugural year, 2013, which saw thousands of people across the capital learn new skills and enjoy countless free exercise sessions. The programme, organised by FLASH Entertainment, aims to highlight the importance of healthy living and leave a lasting legacy within the Abu Dhabi community.
Inspired by the fitness levels of the world's top racing drivers and the vast array of sporting activities they use to boost their physical conditioning, Get Driver Fit offers young and old the opportunity to try something new over 10 action-packed weeks during the exciting build-up to the race.
New for 2014 will be an extended 10 week team training programme focusing on the fitness regime required to become driver fit with the best performing man and woman able to win a trip to recuperate at a luxury retreat in Thailand. Get Driver Fit will culminate with the opening of an entirely unique, purpose built obstacle course in the heart of the capital on Abu Dhabi Corniche, from November 13–15.
The campaign will see participants motivate each other to compete across a variety of disciplines such as running, cycling and swimming, while also learning about the physical and mental benefits of the sports. From start to finish the competitor's fitness will be monitored with a record also kept of the number of training sessions they have attended. The scores amassed from the different components will be added to their time on the obstacle course to identify the ultimate Get Driver Fit Challenger, with an incredible prize for the best performing man and woman. With fitness data and participation key to success, the victors will win a trip to a luxury
Dr. Sven Rohte, Chief Commercial officer at Daman, the title sponsor of Get Driver Fit, said: "The inaugural year of Get Driver Fit was truly fantastic and we were very keen to build on its success in 2014, especially given the exciting new shape the campaign is taking.”
