The Bahrain Karting Sprints Championship (BKSC) roars back into action on Saturday (Editor’s Note: November 29) at Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) in Sakhir.
The BKSC is set to feature twice the thrills with karters battling it out both in the Bahrain Rotax Mojo Max Challenge (BRMMC) and the Sodi Sprint World Series (SSWS).
This weekend’s events will mark the second round of the 2014/2015 season for the BRMMC, which is exclusively run for Rotax kart owners. They will be racing in different age-categories including the Micro Max, Mini Max, Junior Max, Max, Max Masters and DD2.
The SSWS, meanwhile, will be holding its fourth round of the season. The SSWS is the BKSC’s arrive-and-drive class, where participants race in identical 390cc Sodikarts provided by BIKC. Individuals wishing to test their racing skills and compete in the upcoming meeting may do so at a fee of BD60.
All are welcome to attend this Saturday’s events. Action begins at 4.45pm with the BRMMC Free Practice. Qualifying for the Rotax karters will then be held at 5.20pm.
Race One is then scheduled to flag off at 6.05pm, to be followed by Race Two at 6.55pm.
For the SSWS drivers, they will go straight into Qualifying at 5pm. Their opening sprint is then set to get underway at 5.40pm, with the second race slated to begin at 6.55pm.
The evening’s events will culminate with a podium ceremony at 7.20pm.
Saturday’s racing follows an exciting previous round in the BKSC, when Najashi Rashdan and Hussain Hasab claimed a double apiece in the Max and Junior Max categories, respectively.
Mohammed Faqihi and Abdulla Buhindi then shared the hononrs in the SSWS class.
Following this weekend’s events, the next installment of the BKSC will be on December 20. Racing then resumes next year on January 24, while the two final rounds of the season will be held on February 21 and March 28.
